The third prototype vessel to be brought into the 198th Escort Wing, the USS Bayou Lafouche (NX-92777) includes upgraded Deflectors as well as Shields, Torpedo Systems and Force Field systems. It was introduced into the fleet during the initial exploration of the Delta Quadrant after the discovery of the Iconian Gateway near New Romulus. She helped establish a base of operations and ran exploration missions throughout the Devore Sector. Mainly reconnecting with species that the USS Voyager (NCC-74656) during her initial time lost within the quadrant.
